Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cup broccoli florets
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • Cooked rice for serving

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  • While the beef is cooking, steam the broccoli florets until tender, about 3-4 minutes. Set aside.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  • Once the beef is cooked through, drain any excess fat from the skillet.
  • Pour the honey garlic sauce over the cooked beef and stir to combine.
  • In another small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to create a slurry, then add it to the skillet. Stir until the sauce thickens, about 2 minutes.
  • Add the steamed broccoli to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
  • Serve the honey garlic ground beef and broccoli over cooked rice.

Notes

Feel free to adjust the spice level by adding more or less red pepper flakes.
